How to Make Pumpkin Puree

by Stephanie

pureed pumpkin in a white bowl

It’s pumpkin season and although it’s super easy to grab a can of pumpkin puree, it can be so satisfying to make your own. When they’re in season, pie pumpkins are inexpensive to buy. I found two pumpkins for $4 at the local market. Canned pumpkin puree can range from a couple of dollars to […]

A Simple Vegetable Soup to Clean Out the Fridge.

by Stephanie

It’s that time again: soup time! If you’re like me, you crave soup when the weather is cooler. Did you know you can make a pretty decent soup with whatever food you have in the fridge? I like to go through the fridge to hunt for random veggies in the crisper that are on their […]

by Stephanie

Get more energy with these delicious energy bites! I talk to a lot of mammas (and dads too!) and many of them are rushing from place to place without thinking of what they’re going to eat during the day. We are busier than ever and it’s so (so!) important to make sure that we have […]

How to Build a Salad

by Stephanie

Do you like eating salad? According to my highly unscientific research, there are two types of people who don’t like to eat salad: Those who think eating salad is boring. Those who think that salad isn’t filling enough for a full meal. Ok, one more… those who don’t like eating vegetables! If you fall into one […]

There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this super sick season.

As much as possible eat whole foods. I have teens so you know… this isn’t always in my control but do what you can at home.

Wash your hands! You don’t need antibacterial soap… just regular soap will do the trick.

Keep up with vitamins and minerals. Lemon water with a bit of salt first think in the morning and teas throughout the day.

My kids take the first few supplements every day and the last few when they feel something coming on.

I’m a huge fan of lemon ginger buckwheat honey tea when sick. Buckwheat works well on coughs!

Eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, get outside and get some exercise. When you’re sick go outside for fresh air.

There’s more weirdo stuff I can tell you about but this is a great start.

(I really hope I don’t jinx our family with this post! 🤪).

P.S. I’m not a doctor. I’m simply telling you what has worked for my family for years.
