by Stephanie

bowl of soup

I’m not sure about you, but I AM COLD! I don’t remember an October where I had to turn on the heat. We’re cheap and usually wait until November to turn it on, ha!  I think this comes from growing up in a 150-year-old house and my mom saying ‘Just put on a sweater!‘ Well, […]

white kitchen with a double oven and island

A couple of weeks ago during my cooking class, I talked briefly about using the convection setting on my oven. I had forgotten to pre-heat my oven for the class and I was able to pre-heat and then roast my vegetables in no time. Someone in the class had mentioned that my oven must be […]

There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this super sick season.

As much as possible eat whole foods. I have teens so you know… this isn’t always in my control but do what you can at home.

Wash your hands! You don’t need antibacterial soap… just regular soap will do the trick.

Keep up with vitamins and minerals. Lemon water with a bit of salt first think in the morning and teas throughout the day.

My kids take the first few supplements every day and the last few when they feel something coming on.

I’m a huge fan of lemon ginger buckwheat honey tea when sick. Buckwheat works well on coughs!

Eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, get outside and get some exercise. When you’re sick go outside for fresh air.

There’s more weirdo stuff I can tell you about but this is a great start.

(I really hope I don’t jinx our family with this post! 🤪).

P.S. I’m not a doctor. I’m simply telling you what has worked for my family for years.
