Easy One Pan Meal Idea [Save Time in the Kitchen!]

by Stephanie

Easy One Pan Meal Idea [Save Time in the Kitchen!]

This week I have an idea for super easy weeknight dinners: The One Pan Meal!

You need one pan meals in your life. Especially if you’re a busy family.

5 reasons why one pan meals are the best:

  • Wash fewer dishes after dinners (score!)
  • Use fewer ingredients for dinner
  • Use up the food you have leftover in your fridge (saves money!)
  • Everyone can pick and choose what they want to eat off the pan
  • Faster dinner turnaround! (<< this is number one)

The best part about this type of meal is that you can use whatever you have on hand.

Get a bunch of veggies, some protein like wild salmon or chickpeas if you’re veg (or not!), and throw them on the pan.

Cook the veggies first for about 10 mins at 400 degrees C and then add the salmon for another 10 mins or so.

If you’re making this with chickpeas (like I did here) you can just throw them on the pan at the same time as the rest of the veggies.

I’ve learned that cooking salmon and other fish is better when it spends a shorter time in the oven at a higher heat.

Test your oven and see what works for you, but you don’t need to cook salmon until it dries out.

Leave a few clean juices and it’ll continue to cook a bit after you’ve taken it out of the oven.

Eating healthfully should not be a lot of work. One pan meal ideas and one pot meal ideas are a great way to keep you moving toward better health, even if you’re busy.

Send me a note if you need help making quick and nourishing meals.

Nope. 😭 Nope. 😭
The hubs has been very diligent about getting out The hubs has been very diligent about getting out for his steps and most time it’s at night. It takes more of an effort for me, but when I go it’s magical especially in the snow with all of the lights. Plus we get the added benefit of fresh air before bed. I highly recommend it!

There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this super sick season.

As much as possible eat whole foods. I have teens so you know… this isn’t always in my control but do what you can at home.

Wash your hands! You don’t need antibacterial soap… just regular soap will do the trick.

Keep up with vitamins and minerals. Lemon water with a bit of salt first think in the morning and teas throughout the day.

My kids take the first few supplements every day and the last few when they feel something coming on.

I’m a huge fan of lemon ginger buckwheat honey tea when sick. Buckwheat works well on coughs!

Eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, get outside and get some exercise. When you’re sick go outside for fresh air.

There’s more weirdo stuff I can tell you about but this is a great start.

(I really hope I don’t jinx our family with this post! 🤪).

P.S. I’m not a doctor. I’m simply telling you what has worked for my family for years.
