by Stephanie

single bulb of shallot

There’s a little vegetable you may have seen at the grocery store many times but didn’t take because you didn’t know what to do with it.  It has a ton of flavour and can boost the flavour profile of many meals you make at home. Especially those pantry meals! It’s small, the colour of rust and kind […]

stack of cook books

My kids used to take swimming lessons at a pool that was attached to a library. We made a point every week of checking out the library (mostly because I love going to the library… but you know it’s important for the kids too). The cool thing about the library is that there are books of all […]

There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this super sick season.

As much as possible eat whole foods. I have teens so you know… this isn’t always in my control but do what you can at home.

Wash your hands! You don’t need antibacterial soap… just regular soap will do the trick.

Keep up with vitamins and minerals. Lemon water with a bit of salt first think in the morning and teas throughout the day.

My kids take the first few supplements every day and the last few when they feel something coming on.

I’m a huge fan of lemon ginger buckwheat honey tea when sick. Buckwheat works well on coughs!

Eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, get outside and get some exercise. When you’re sick go outside for fresh air.

There’s more weirdo stuff I can tell you about but this is a great start.

(I really hope I don’t jinx our family with this post! 🤪).

P.S. I’m not a doctor. I’m simply telling you what has worked for my family for years.
