3 Things to Prep on the Weekend to Make Your Busy Week Easier

If you haven’t read my previous post covering 5 Things to Prep to Make your Week Easier, check it out here!

This time around I have some new things to prep on the weekend to make your life easier during your busy weeks.

Cookies + Muffins

Everyone likes a sweet treat during the day, right? I prep cookies or muffins in advance to satisfy our sweet tooth while at the same time nourishing our bodies.

If you have kids, mini muffins are an instant hit. Batch bake some chocolate chip mini muffins or turn these Walnut Cinnamon Muffins into a mini form for school lunches. Replace the walnuts with sunflower or pumpkin seeds for a nut-free alternative.

If you’re looking for a cookie to much on at work, try batching up these Coconut Almond Cookies. They’re a Koukla Delights dupe and just as delicious. You can also break them up to have over your Greek yogurt. Yum.

Whatever your favourite muffin or cookie, make up a big batch on the weekend so you have them available for a quick snack during the week. Keep them in the freezer for longer-term storage.

Egg Muffins

Speaking of muffins, I’ve been making egg muffins for my family and they’re a hit! I’m sure it’s because I add bacon to the mix. They’re easy to make, and the perfect grab-and-go snack, breakfast, or lunch option to have for the week.

Get the recipe here.

Yogurt Jars

Whether you eat them for a light breakfast or an afternoon snack, yogurt parfait jars are a quick and easy recipe to prep. They last about three days in the fridge so you can have an easy snack option for your busiest days. I like to use Greek or goat yogurt for a hit of protein, frozen blueberries, walnuts, hemp seeds, and a touch of maple syrup.

Tip: yogurt parfait jars are also a great way to use up any bits of fruit you have left over in the fridge or freezer.

Try this recipe.

Meal prep these three things on the weekend it’ll make your life easier during the week I promise you! Try it and let me know how it works for you.

The hubs has been very diligent about getting out The hubs has been very diligent about getting out for his steps and most time it’s at night. It takes more of an effort for me, but when I go it’s magical especially in the snow with all of the lights. Plus we get the added benefit of fresh air before bed. I highly recommend it!

There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this There ‘s a lot you can do to stay healthy in this super sick season.

As much as possible eat whole foods. I have teens so you know… this isn’t always in my control but do what you can at home.

Wash your hands! You don’t need antibacterial soap… just regular soap will do the trick.

Keep up with vitamins and minerals. Lemon water with a bit of salt first think in the morning and teas throughout the day.

My kids take the first few supplements every day and the last few when they feel something coming on.

I’m a huge fan of lemon ginger buckwheat honey tea when sick. Buckwheat works well on coughs!

Eat a big breakfast, go to bed early, get outside and get some exercise. When you’re sick go outside for fresh air.

There’s more weirdo stuff I can tell you about but this is a great start.

(I really hope I don’t jinx our family with this post! 🤪).

P.S. I’m not a doctor. I’m simply telling you what has worked for my family for years.
